Dominican University of California is an independent university of Catholic heritage located only 12 miles north of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge in Marin County. Founded in 1890 by the Dominican Sisters of San Rafael, Dominican enjoys a century-long reputation for excellence in scholarship, research, and community outreach.

Dominican’s mission is to educate and prepare students to be ethical leaders and socially responsible global citizens who incorporate the Dominican values of study, reflection, community, and service into their lives. Dominican successfully blends personal direction associated with smaller schools with the academic resources of a larger university in order to provide a dynamic academic environment for the University’s 2,200 undergraduate and graduate students. The focus on interdisciplinary studies encourages students to explore new pursuits, while small classes enable faculty to support students in their ongoing areas of study and work.
